Final Fantasy Jessica Drew Edition

In the latest Secret Invasion offering from the House of Ideas, Tony Stark comes dangerously close to losing his grip on all reality when he’s trapped by the delectably drawn Spider Woman who just happens to be a no good filthy Skrull! (Suprise!) Since Bendis took over at Marvel with his work on New Avengers and more famously Avengers Disassembled, he’s been writing the character of Jessica Drew like a fan boy’s wet dream. She’s totally untrustworthy, scheming, pleading, deceitful, and also hot as a M-80. Combine all that with her basically being a triple agent for every shady organization in the Marvel Universe and it’s no wonder she’s the psychological (and visual) anchor for the hottest crossover event since Jordan got abused (nh?) by Iverson.

Here Wolverine traps her in the shower, but true to form she talks her way out of it (awww). Based on the sheer amount of times this character is getting trapped and interrogated, you have to figure that somebody is getting that Skrull booty. But no… even major franchise characters like Wolverine that are normally pretty invincible, just turn goofy and helpless in the face of Spider pussy. THIS has gotta be frustrating…

Thaaaas Riiiight! She slit his throat with his own claws. That sealed it for me. She is hands down the most aggravating, slimiest villain (male or female) in modern comics today. If what the internet says is true, and Bendis has been writing her as a Skrull since the beginning of New Avengers that makes her all the more deluscious. I’ll be sad when the writers are forced to swap out this nuanced, evil version with the plain jane goody good who first showed up here.
