August 18, 2008 – 11:20 pmFellow conspiracy enthusiast Ollie Stone returns with his (I’m assuming unauthorized) biopic about everybody’s favorite shrub and world economy destroyer Gee Dubya. The first thing that comes to mind is that Condi looks way too good, and Bush looks taller and thinner than he should. The casting for Karl Rove was spot on though. This holds about the same interest for me as the recent HBO flick Recount, which I still haven’t seen.

As reported elsewhere, some Disney employees and their supporters staged a protest outside Disneyland for health benefits and other wage related issues, only to get swooped on by the infamous One Time. Props to whoever snapped these photos, this shit is comedy GOLD.

I picked up on this one kinda late obviously, (through Nylon magazine of all places) but after the obligatory Google I came up with this legendary hate from Animal:
The self-professed ‘Mural Kings’ created a series of soft-as-baby-shit graffiti-styled backdrops for the upscale retailer’s 5th Avenue window displays. The colorful diorama populated with whited-out, product showcasing mannequins makes for an extremely awkward juxtaposition. And since when does the Lord & Taylor buying demo find graffiti—even this watered down, gallery style—appealing? Although we understand that artists need to make a living and these guys do so by parlaying their once illegal painting skills for above the law commercial uses, it’s gotten to the point that they’ll do just about anything for anyone, as long as the check clears.
Yikes. The amount of jealousy, and backbiting amongst the (online) graffiti community is staggering. I don’t begrudge anyone their right to an opinion, but when I see rants like the above quoted, where grizzled veterans that have put in major work for years get shitted on for “killing” the art form I gotta call bullshit. No disrespect my dude, or whatever… but the metal plate in my forehead is telling me you don’t got half the stripes they do on a street level, so get the hate out your blood and let them do numbers. Ya dig?
